Well, hello Dali!

Left Barcelona for Figueres today-----it took quite a while for Dan to get the car, but since he spent most of the drive telling me about it, i will let him mention

The highway was very crowded, it is Easter weekend, and many people are on holiday.    Once we passed the exit to the Costa Brava, it cleared up and we got to Figuera in time to check into the hotel, and walk to the Dali Museum.   That too was I think we should not plan to be in Europe during Easter, though we seem to end up doing that quite often.   The museum is fantastic!  It was just also mobbed however, so difficult to see everything.  Dali designed the museum himself, and is buried in it---the crypt is in a separate room that is dark, excepf for jewel cases on either side of the room, quite dramatic, no surprise there!

The museum is full of Dali's extravagance designs, as well as early paintings.
There  was also a museum of his jewels, in another building he designed, this one in sort of a puke pink with white things jetting out of it.  I love this museum, some pictures are on facebook.   wonderful!

had a bad sleeping night again, noisy place, frustrating.
